Have had aquariums for over 40 years,,,,this works, do research in your fish guide,,,There are alot of issues...when my other remedies dont work, i always fall back on this type....very satisfied...had a huge albino frog, who managed to escape,I was younger then, and didnt see the spot..for esacpe...i dont know , to this day how that frog made it out in such a small gap,, anyway,,,,the tiny African frogs were too tiny to jump out....This did not work on the albino frog..i finally found it near my bookcases, dried up, So, just sayin.. other than a critter,,,,on the loose, that should be contained in H20...Well, surely , the point has been made....LOLAlways keep it on hand..Did same with my parakeets.. The sickness can come on rather quickly...

Fish Flex (cephalexin) is a broad spectrum antibiotic used in the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. It is effective against a number of pathogentic bacteria associated with ornamental fish. Available in 250 or 500 mg strengths in bottles of 30 or 100 capsules. *Caution : Not for Human Use.

First, fish antibiotics are completely unregulated. Technically, they should fall under the purview of the Food and Drug Administration, which oversees both human and animal drugs. Those animals including companion animals (dogs, cats, horses) and food animals (cattle, pigs, chickens). Yet no ornamental fish antibiotics are approved by the FDA.

"The antibiotics available in pet stores or online for ornamental fish have not been approved, conditionally approved, or indexed by the FDA, so it is illegal to market them," the FDA said in a statement to Smithsonian.com. The statement continued:

The FDA says that it does not have any data on how prevalent the fish antibiotics problem is. "We are currently looking into these products," representatives wrote in a statement. "FDA considers taking action based on its resources, the risk the product poses, and its public health priorities."

In 2002, Army physician Brandon J. Goff wrote a letter to the editor of the New England Journal of Medicine documenting an encounter with an unnamed Army Special Forces soldier who came to him with a sinus infection after self-medicating with fish antibiotics from a pet store. The soldier described this source of antibiotics as "common knowledge among all branches of the American Special Forces community," according to Goff.

Fish Flex for fish works to combat a range of bacterial infections. Containing the antibiotic cephalexin, this medication stops the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Please note that this product should never be given to humans.

For example, there are strict regulations about how human antibiotics must be packaged, stored, and shipped. In an extreme case, the fish antibiotics you buy could be contaminated with protozoan or microbes. However, a more likely scenario is that poor storage conditions could have caused the antibiotics to deteriorate and lose effectiveness.

Here is where I need to make a disclaimer that I am not a doctor and none of this should be construed as medical advice! I am just a concerned citizen like yourself who wants to be prepared for disaster by making sure to have life-saving antibiotics if necessary.

They are actually intended for fish, you use it for various fin skin or other fish illnesses. They usually come in some sort of capsules that you open and sprinkle the content into the tank as directed. Just an FYI.

Fish Flex Cephalexin Monohydrate 250mg Antibiotic - 100 Capsules Cephalexin - Antibacterial Fish Medication, a generic form of Keflex, is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a wide range of non-specific bacterial infections during the most active and multiplying stages of infection.

Directions: Add 1 capsule (250 mg) into aquarium for every 10 gallons of water to be treated. Repeat in 24 hours. It is suggested that a partial water change be made between treatments. While duration of treatment depends on type and severity of infection, it is recommended that extended medication baths continue for a minimum of 5 days but not more than 10 days. Discontinue treatment if no improvement is noted within 5 days. Warnings: For aquarium and ornamental fish only. Not for human use. This product should not be given to fish intended for human consumption. Keep out of the reach of children and animals. In case of accidental overdose, contact a health professional immediately. Storage: Keep container tightly closed and in a cool, dry place.

Finally, some people seek to explain the humiliation and injustice of having to rely on fish mox through narratives that reflect an expectation that health is an individual responsibility (rather than a public good). They illustrate the strong focus on personal responsibility that saturates the survivalist community and echo classically neoliberal constructions of health as a matter of individual and disciplined choices [19],[20]. As one writer concludes about her decision to finally resort to using fish mox to treat increasingly debilitating tooth pain5.

The first element of this critique suggests that over past decades medical care has decreased, implicitly linking this inversely to the escalating certainty in future disaster that characterizes prepper communities. As this user explains, fish mox consumption is both a reflection of poor care and a solution to it:

Users draw on an abundance of observable details to make claims about secret and nefarious linkages that produce credible narratives about fish mox's connection to inescapable realities of health-based inequalities much as in the Warao at the center of Briggs and Mantini-Brigg's analysis [10]. This endorsement of fish mox in a discussion about poverty on reddit is emblematic of such narratives:

These are all logical extensions of individuals' experiences of health, wellbeing, and inequality. They implicate fish mox in a broader schema of populist expertise that challenges the legitimacy of expert institutions' ability to produce authoritative knowledge. Cultural narratives about fish mox mirror those that challenge vaccine use [7],[11] by establishing new forms of expertise over health and risk.

The best fish spatula is from Wusthof; it combines sturdiness with nimbleness, making it easy to slide under fish, pancakes, and burgers. For budget picks, we liked options from Winco and Miu. Sur La Table has a great silicone-lined spat for those that frequently cook with nonstick or enameled cast iron, and Lamson makes our pick for a left-handed fish spatula.

Ganda Suthivarakom, who wrote our original guide, has spent many hours researching and testing spatulas. Michael Sullivan, who conducted the last round of testing, in 2016, spent dozens of hours using spatulas for everything from flipping delicate fish fillets to frosting cakes (and just about everything else in between).

Finally, another multitasking spatula worth adding to your arsenal is an offset spatula. These thin, narrow offset palette knives are usually about 9 inches long, and they are designed for bakers who want to add polish to cakes and spread thick batters into the corners of pans. But they also come in mini sizes (roughly 4 inches long), which are great for handling more-delicate tasks like decorating cupcakes and even spreading mustard or mayo on your bread. We looked for offset spatulas with strong, flexible blades that were thin enough for delicate tasks like lifting thin cookies from a pan or frosting a cupcake.

We prepared pancake and cake batter, and then we used the silicone spatulas to scrape down the sides of a mixing bowl. We also scraped the pancake batter out of a one-cup Pyrex measuring cup to see how flexible these spatulas were when maneuvering around small, tight corners. To see how they would perform with thicker, heavier ingredients, we used them to prepare cake frosting and sticky cookie dough. We even pressed the heads of the silicone spatulas against the bottom of the hot pan to see if they could withstand high heat. 041b061a72
